QUETTA – The 62nd Gwadar Day was celebrated in the city of Balochistan by the Pakistan Navy in honor of the Gwadar Port workforce.
An annual event since 1958, celebrated on the 8th of December to mark the merging of Gwadar with Pakistan, Gwadar Day was the main venue for many appealing activities, with the Pakistan Navy being the main attraction. The Special Service Group, organized by the Navy, performed multiple demonstrations such as hovercraft maneuvers and boat rallies among others. Many a people were in attendance including chief guest Vice Admiral Zahid Ilyas to observe and enjoy the event.
The celebration of this annual event was accomplished as a means to enlighten the Gwadar populace during the COVID-19 lockdown. Despite this, precautionary measures and related SOPs were strictly observed.
