ISLAMABAD – As reported by a news source, Rawalpindi Commissioner Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah has requested the Small Dam Organization during a review meeting to accelerate the construction of the Daducha Dam, a project worth PKR 7 billion. The commissioner has also delivered instructions for relief provision towards affected citizens previously residing in the construction area.

Commissioner Shah has stated that the purpose of this dam’s construction was to address the water scarcity problem in Pakistan, as Daducha (in conjunction with several smaller dams) are intended to save at least a million cusics of water for civilian consumption and use. Daducha Dam is also intended to act as a tourist destination for the area.
