LAHORE – The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) recently announced the latest SOPs to be implemented during the rising COVID-19 cases.

The following SOPs were decided during an conference chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan after observing the situation of the ongoing pandemic affecting Pakistan. They are stated as follows:

  • There will be a complete closure of schools in districts beyond 5% positivity, including classes from nine to twelve. Maximum emphasis on online learning.
  • All public and private offices and departments will operate between the hours of 9:00am and 2:00pm, with the strict observation of a ‘work from home’ policy for at least 50% of the concerned staff.
  • Any and all activities such operation of gyms and indoor/outdoor dining are banned between 6:00PM and Sehr. Additionally, two extra days of the week (which are yet to be determined) will be observed as ‘closed’. Only essential services are exempted from this rule.

These measures are to be implemented immediately and will remain enforced until the 17th of May. A review of the lockdown situation will be carried out by the NCOC on the 11th should further action be taken.
